Tillamook PUD Apprentice Wins Award
August 20, 2008- Simon Hagerty, first-year apprentice lineman at Tillamook PUD, placed third at the 15th Annual Pacific Northwest Lineman’s Rodeo held July 26, in Gresham, Oregon.
Forty-three apprentices competed at the event from utilities across the Northwest and Alaska including Portland General Electric and Seattle City Light. Simon’s competition also included first, second and third-year apprentices.
Still in training to become journeymen linemen, apprentices compete in events that simulate work scenarios. The events test speed and skill. In addition to events such as Pole Climbing, Double Arm Make-Up and Hurt Man Rescue, Simon excelled in a written examination that covered line-work safety, OSHA 1910-269, grounding, First-Aid, CPR and transformer connections.
Simon will now go on to compete in the International Lineman’s Rodeo in Kansas City, Missouri. Tillamook PUD is proud of Simon's accomplishments.

Tillamook PUD Board Vacancy
July 28, 2008- Tillamook People’s Utility District (PUD) has a vacant position on its board of directors. The position was held by Frank Brawner who recently resigned because of declining health issues. This position represents Subdivision No.1, in South Tillamook County.
The Board of Directors met on July 28, 2008, and voted to keep the position open until the general election in November, at which time, a representative will be elected to the office

Tillamook Health Issues Push Tillamook PUD Board Member To Resign
July 21, 2008- Tillamook People’s Utility District (PUD) regretfully announces that health issues have caused Frank Brawner to resign from its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Frank held the position of Vice-President of the Board and has served the District, representing Subdivision No.1, South Tillamook County, since 2004.
Frank began an illustrious career in the banking industry in 1955, serving as a marketing and human resources officer. He was employed by the Oregon Banker’s Association from 1975 through 1998 and is highly accomplished in the public service sector. He has become an active participant in the public power industry upon joining the Tillamook PUD board of directors. Frank has always made a positive impact to the communities in which he’s lived and was recently named Citizen of the Year by the Pacific City – Nestucca Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Frank and wife, Joane, are residents of Neskowin and are the parents of four children and grandparents to eleven.

Tillamook PUD Contractors Inspect North County Electrical Facilities
July 17, 2008- Tillamook PUD has contracted with Utility Asset Management to perform its annual safety inspection of facilities.
The contractors will inspect all meters, poles and underground electrical facilities in the areas of Nedonna Beach, Wheeler, Nehalem, Manzanita, Neah-Kah-Nie, and Mohler, including Miami Foley Road, Foss Road, Highway 53 and North Fork Road. Inspection activities are expected to continue for approximately six months.
Inspectors will drive vehicles marked Safety Inspector - Tillamook PUD Contractor, and individual inspectors will wear an orange safety vest labeled “utility inspector.” The inspector’s photo identification will also be displayed on the vest.
Annual inspections are mandated by the Oregon Public Utility Commission and are intended to promote safety and reliability of Tillamook PUD’s electrical facilities.
